Job Title: Technical Protection Officer
Report to Protection Program Director

BACKGROUND INFORMATION – JOB SPECIFIC
JOHUD is seeking to hire an experienced Technical Protection Officer for Mabarret Um Alhussain. The Technical protection officer will be responsible for overseeing protection services for the children at Mabarret in addition to leading the team of Mabarret towards creating child friendly environment, mainstreaming protection and accountability to the children in Mabarret. The goal of this position is to ensure that child safeguarding polices, protection principles, SOPS for in care shelters from the national protection framework and other global protection policies are implemented and mainstreamed.
Job Responsibilities
Enforcing child protection principles and mechanisms, in addition to applying child friendly accountability framework.
Providing guidance to Mabarret um Alhussain staff and build their capacity in child protection principles, PSEA polices and SOPs and have hands on applying safe referral pathway.
Identify psychosocial needs and protection concerns followed by designing groups or individual interventions.
Work closely with the protection unit to ensure integrating children of Mabarret within all JOHUD programs and resources.
Conduct mapping exercise for national and international actors working in care shelters in order to build referrals network and possible partnerships.
Ensuring quality service and activities for the children of Mabarret um Alhussain by engaging with the protection unit and applying the program tools in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating for the conducted intervention.
Advising the protection director on necessary plans and procedures to meet the needs and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for the children in Mabarret Um Alhussain.
on-going direct supervision for Mabarret staff including delegating tasks, following-up, coaching, and performance evaluation.
Build and maintains positive and collaborative networks and communications with related national and international organizations, ministries and other service providers.
Maintain a healthy, sanitary, and organized physical environment for staff and children by making certain that all activities, policies, and procedures are followed appropriately.
Promote an environment that eliminates discrimination, harassment or violence against any staff or child at Mabarret Um Alhussain, creating documentation system for the cases files and lessons learned from activities.
Ensure available medical services at Al Mabarret.
Create and maintain appropriate documentation of services and children files according to the quality assurance, reporting, and auditing standards.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology or any related majors.
At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of protection of children, broader protection or social work involving children and youth, with knowledge of issues relating to child protection
Skills and experience in interviewing and working with children and families and supervising staff on case management of at-risk children.
Extensive experience in working with children, adolescents and youth and participatory child friendly approaches.
Demonstrated understanding of critical issues around child protection data and knowledge of safe and ethical data collection analysis and conducting assessments.
High proficiency with computers, and other software/ platforms related to the positions field of expertise
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English and Arabic required
