Avionics Team Leader

Department

Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Avionics maintenance tasks, repairs, inspections and modifications, are accomplished and signed properly in accordance with regulations
  • Attend all Operations Department project meetings 
  • Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority
  • Responsible for the promotion and practice of a safety culture amongst the maintenance teams and participates in quality improvements activities
  • Support as required line and base maintenance stations abroad for annual inspections and troubleshooting
  • Remove and reinstall aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as all avionics and control boxes for all electrical flight control, communication, and navigation systems
  • Development and organization of the Avionics unit, training and instruction of trainees
  • Interpret test results to diagnose malfunctions, and adjusts, repair, or replace defective parts
  • Apply technical knowledge of power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and required expertise in restoring equipment to operating conditions and operations
  • Ensure the proper installation of electrical and electronic parts, assemblies, systems, and equipment in aircraft according to technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications using hand tools and power tools
  • Ensure all activities are performed by the team are accomplished according to the manufacturer's established guidelines and EASA approved data
  • Research part and material requirements to ensure correct effectiveness and continuous workflow
  • Research and review engineering data to determine the most efficient method of repairs and alterations
  • Coordinate with Engineering personnel to resolve avionics issues that are beyond the scope of EASA approved/accepted repair data
  • Evaluate avionics personnel performance
  • Participate in troubleshooting critical defects related to the Avionics tasks 
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to ensure a smooth and continuous workflow
  • Evaluate equipment needs to ensure that proper equipment is available for work in progress
  • Prepare periodic and non – periodic reports as required
  • Perform any other roles and responsibilities within the scope of his / her specialization as assigned by the direct manager
  • Adhere to company and department's approved system, policies, and procedures while performing all duties
  • Participate effectively in environmental protection programs (energy and water saving, waste segregation) and notify for any environmental related nonconformities

 

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. degree in Electrical, Electronics engineering, or any related field, or Electrical Engineering Diploma
  • 8-10 years of experience for B.Sc. Engineer, 12 for Diploma
  • Accredited certificates or courses, Licensed B2 Engineer Part 66 is a plus
  • Must hold a valid Part 66 license or a certifying staff authorization issued under Part-66 regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of EASA regulations Part 66
  • Must hold at least 3 Type Rating authorizations
  • Completed the theoretical part of the type training provided by an approved EASA Part 147 organization
  • Completed the practical element of the type training provided by an approved EASA Part 147 organization
  • Expert in Avionics, Electronic and Electrical test equipment
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office , ERP system knowledge is an advantage
  • RCA knowledge
  • Must have excellent knowledge of Electrical/Electronic theory and principles
